PHILA Holistic

PHILA Holistic is a healing and learning practice rooted in breath, sound, and indigenous wisdom traditions. Founded by South African facilitator, artist, cultural practitioner and iGqirha (traditional healer) Sisonke Papu (KHNYSA), the work explores the relationship between breath, body, consciousness, and the deeper intelligence that animates life.

Drawing from African cosmology alongside contemporary understandings of the nervous system, sound, and somatic awareness, PHILA Holistic offers spaces where individuals can reconnect with their inner wisdom, creativity, and sense of belonging within the living world.

Through ceremonial breathwork journeys, immersive sound experiences, personal guidance, and educational programs such as PHEFUMLA: Breath, Voice & the Wisdom of the Ancestors, participants are invited into processes of healing, reflection, and personal alignment.

The word PHILA comes from isiXhosa, meaning to live or to be well. This principle sits at the heart of the work: supporting people to return to a state of balance, presence, and vitality.

Based in South Africa and working internationally, PHILA Holistic creates environments where rest, awareness, and transformation can unfold naturally in an increasingly fast-moving world.

Empowering Through Healing Practices

At PHILA Holistic, we envision a world where everyone has access to the healing power of breath and sound. Our mission is to support individuals in their journey of self-discovery and well-being.

We strive to create a community that embraces healing, growth, and the celebration of indigenous knowledge, offering tools for personal transformation and resilience.
